This week I will be helping with an art exhibition in the School of International Service Building (SIS) at American University. Jose Pablo Morales Delgado is an artisan from Boruca. Boruca is home to a tribe of indigenous people living in the southern zone of Costa Rica. Pablo’s wood-carved sculptures represent a history of cultural resistance and showcase the flora and fauna of Costa Rica.
If you are in the Tenleytown area this week, stop by SIS to view the masks between 9:30am and 5:30pm or come to Meet the Artist on Thursday, January 26 between 6 and 8pm.
